If a name does not appear, check spelling, name order and the correct examination file. A successful-candidate list is useful for quick checking, but the official result slip from the registration centre is the authoritative personal record.

How to verify the 2026 Cameroon GCE results officially

The official release advises candidates to verify results at their registration centres. Results may also be announced on radio, while result slips are collected from registration centres. Use the Cameroon GCE Board website for Board notices and result services.

Do not pay an unknown person who promises to change a grade, issue a result slip or reveal a “withheld” result. Contact the examination centre or the GCE Board through an official channel.

The biggest movement was at GCE Advanced Level, where the pass rate declined by 17.60 percentage points. Ordinary Level also declined, but less sharply. Both technical streams improved: TVEE Intermediate Level gained 8.39 points and TVEE Advanced Level gained 1.70 points.

A percentage-point change is not the same as a percentage change. For example, the overall rate moved from 75.46% to 67.88%, a decrease of 7.58 percentage points.

School candidates performed better than external candidates

At Ordinary Level, regular school candidates recorded a 78.27% pass rate, compared with 57.99% for external candidates. At Advanced Level, regular school candidates achieved 69.95%, while external candidates recorded 42.55%.

The gap does not prove that candidate status alone caused the result. School candidates usually receive more structured teaching, assessment and peer support, while external candidates can face very different preparation conditions. The figures show a strong association, not an explanation for every learner.

Denominational schools led both levels nationally. Some categories have much smaller candidate populations than others, so readers should compare both the rate and the number who sat before drawing broad conclusions.

Divisional highlights, including Menoua

Manyu recorded the highest O Level divisional pass rate at 90.10%, while Koung-Khi led A Level at 88.89%. Menoua Division, home to Dschang and Afritech Institute, recorded 81.10% at O Level and 68.51% at A Level, both above their respective national pass rates.

Subject pass rates must be interpreted with candidate numbers. A subject with a very small entry can show an extreme percentage that is not directly comparable to a core subject written by tens of thousands of candidates.

Among major O Level subjects, English Language recorded 77.38%, French 68.47%, Biology 62.01%, Computer Science 59.58%, Mathematics 58.51% and Physics 56.86%.

Cinematic Art recorded 100%, but only 28 candidates sat, so it should not be read as evidence that it was nationally “easier.” Other prominent rates included Physics at 63.47%, Further Mathematics at 59.90%, Biology at 59.07%, French at 50.33%, Chemistry at 48.45%, Computer Science at 44.93% and Pure Mathematics with Mechanics at 44.34%.

What the 2026 statistics say about examination malpractice

The official statistics list 2,792 reported malpractice incidences in 2026, compared with 2,751 in 2025. Pre-prepared material declined from 2,028 to 1,010 incidences, but collusion or copied work increased from 542 to 1,580. Cell-phone cases rose from 118 to 166, and impersonation cases rose from 15 to 23.

These are incident counts in the report. They should not automatically be described as 2,792 different candidates because one reporting unit and one candidate are not necessarily the same thing.
